What's your most valued possession?

Have you ever given away something by accident? What was it? How did you give it away by accident?

excluding things that are living, the most valued possession would be my childhood teddy bear. He's pretty much the only non-living thing, if the house is on fire, that i'd attempt to save.

I am not hopeful at all. It would be nice to get at least one goal, though... but even that isn't guaranteed.

I actually think you're going to win.

...though of course I thought Spain was going to win.

It would be nice, but I would rather expect defeat and be pleasantly surprised than go into it expecting a win and cry in my beer afterwards. There's nothing worse than soggy beer.

My contentment, without a doubt. Having lost it for so long, I cherish it.

If, however, we're talking an actual tangible item, it would be my house. 1190 square feet of one-story, built in 1951, six-room pure unadulterated dream come true.

I accidentally gave away almost all of my cat figurine collection. I was collecting one particular kind after getting one at a thrift store. The summer I cleaned the garage, I accidentally gave away the box they were in. I had boxed them because after a couple of years of displaying them, I'd put them away. The only thing that bothered me about it was that in that box was one Sam had given me, it was a cat sushi chef.

I've learned one thing over the past 6 years: memories are more important than things. So, I have the memory of opening the box and seeing his face as I yelled how much I loved it....and I can't lose that...so, it's all good.

I'm just delighted that you have reclaimed it.

Your loss makes me sad. Was it a Kliban figurine? I know he has a couple of those, at least as far as tee shirts went.

Memories are the best. Here's hoping we make a few more for you!

When our bird died, I gave away the battered old night table that the cage had been sitting on. Then I found out that hubby had been storing a packet of rare stamps there. Dumb of me not to have checked the drawers, and dumb of him to have chosen such a poor place to store them. Oh well, somebody got a windfall, I guess.

Oh, dear, that is not fun. It would have been nice if the person who took it had returned the stamps to you, but I suppose that only happens in the movies.
