silliness for a Thursday

Do you have a favorite TV channel that's your go to channel (I will confess that mine is ID TV)?

Do you like poetry?

Do you prefer straight or bendy straws?

Create TV - PBS channel with cooking and crafting shows. Generally good when there's nothing else on.

Nope, dislike. Poems always seem like math word problems to me. Gimme prose.

No real preference.

They used to have Bob Ross but not lately. Sometimes they will do Bob Ross marathons. Love his show

They did upload them to YouTube finally, though!

It's based out of NY but it's worth checking out if there's a similar station around your way!

HGTV or PBS. It used to be Animal Planet years ago, but that channel's gone to shit.

I adore poetry. My favorite poets are Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, Wallace Stevens, and Pablo Neruda.

Bendy.

I know what you mean. They rarely show animal shows on Animal Planet anymore.

I do quite favour BBC4 - it's where all the more obscure stuff is.

Oh look, at the moment they're reshowing the series "Nazis: a Warning from History"

Fun times.

PBS. That's where I get all the good British shows. Except for Doctor Who, and that's on BBC-A.

I like some poetry very much. With some I feel like I'm following the author through a maze, trying to get to the end of a metaphor--those not so much.

Bendy, usually.

I LOVE ANTIQUES ROADSHOW. I especially love the ones where they show you the updates from the original showing to see if the value's gone up or down

I don't know... I watch things on the youtube... I watch some NBC at work.... local nbc channel is my go-to for local weather.

I could not live without it.

mmm.... probably bendy.

Wow, very rarely will I watch anything on YouTube... aside from the odd cat short.

Well I don't have actual teevee/cable. So it's youtube, netflix, ... some network-y options on the Roku.... I definitely keep up on all the late night shows on youtube.

I see. it's good that you have it as an option, then! :D

If I'm not watching my six or so favorite shows on CBS (NCIS, NCIS New Orleans, Bull, Criminal Minds, MacGuyver and Hawaii Five-O, I'm watching HGTV, FOOD Network or Destination America for the ghosty things.
I'd rather read a good mystery. Dr. Seuss however intrigues me and I love to read those books out loud to the kids...
So long as they are in my drink, doesn't matter!

Destination America and their ghost shows are fun. I love it when the investigators scare themselves.

Yep, me too! Of course you have to wonder why if they are so easily scared they are paranormal investigators.... still it's fun and I enjoy the escapism.

Exactly. Just once it would be nice if they would have a good experience, though. All their ghosts are evil things.

It used to be the History Channel and Vh1 before they went downhill. I keep on trying to convince my husband to cancel the cable since it cost so much and we mostly just stream our TV anymore.

I enjoy goofy poetry. Poetry is beautiful if done well and awful if done wrong.

Bendy straws. They're so flexible. :)

I don't have a favourite channel.

yes, always have

bendy straws, so I can straighten them out, and then try to bend them again ...
spikesgirl58
Feb. 17th, 2017 09:28 pm (UTC)
And do you pull the bendy bit out and then try to recrimp it? I do that, too.

yes, that's what I meant by "try to bend them again"

1) I don't own a television, but I used to enjoy PBS, the Food Channel, the Travel Channel, TCM, Animal Planet, and (occasionally) the History Channel

2) Sometimes (depends on the poet)

3) I prefer no straw

A cup of coffee, a remote control, and me. So content on a warm winter's week.
1) PBS, especially Twin Cities TV's Life and Minnesota Channels.

2) Depends on the poet.

3) Swizzle stick.

*Swizzle stick.*

But you get funnier looks when you ask for a straw... especially for a glass of wine.
