Takeaways in the UK.

I was fascinated by the boxes in this week's picfic, I'd never seen anything like them before. Which lead me to wonder when Chinese takeaway started in the UK, so I googled.

Apparently the very first takeaway started in ~1960 as an off shoot of a restaurant in London. And they don't seem to have spread very far until ~1970. I suppose it's because there aren't very many people of Chinese origin in the UK.

Now the British love of Indian food is another matter entirely.
