2 t. rock salt *
2 cloves garlic, minced **
2 t. minced fresh ginger root ***
1 T. soy sauce
1 T. brown sugar
1 t. sesame oil
Pepper to taste
1 ½ pds tri-tip steak
In a Ziplock plastic bag (large enough to accommodate your steak) combine all the ingredients, except the steak and mix well. Add the steak and close. Massage the mixture into the steak and allow it to marinate for an hour. Preheat your grill or your oven to broil. Grill (or broil) to your preference.
* Don’t substitute regular salt for this or your steak will be too salty.
** You can substitute 1 t. dried mince garlic if you prefer.
*** You can use 2 t. of ginger powder, but the fresh root is better
