RV and Steve McQueen
There's a paragraph in today's Times quoting RV about filming Mag7. I can't link to it because it's behind a paywall, I'm reading the dead tree edition.
RV is quoted as saying that Steve McQueen frequented Mexican brothels. Once, while filming Magnificent 7, the pair of them realised that the only means of payment they had with them was SMcQ's Diners Club card and that was probably not valid there. So they ran out through the swing doors and ran in different directions. SMcQ wouldn't talk to him for a month, thinking RV had run off and left him.
It was a different way of life in those days.
