I’ve been hosting a short story writing challenge over on Section VII for a while now. The contribution it’s been getting have been excellent but, being the story glutton I am, I want more.
The way the challenge works is simple. Every Monday, I randomly pluck two words from the dictionary. I also use a twenty sided die to determine a colour. Fics are then built around ONE of the words plus the colour. The word count is between 300 & 1000, so it is ideal for anyone who hasn’t the time, or the inclination, to write longer stories. (I have a tendency to write shorter stories, because my longer ones somehow lose themselves along the way).
The prompts are posted on a Monday, and the stories generated from them are posted the following Monday. The prompts for fics due today are right here, and the prompts for next week's postings can be found here.
The Challenge is open to Gen and Het, with Gen being posted directly to Section VII, and for Het there is the Map Room.
