Okay, gotta say, I enjoyed it

It ain't canon, but I wasn't expecting that and so was not disappointed. Taken in it's own right, it's a fun piece of film.  Interesting reinterpretations of Solo and Kuryakin, and I confess I snickered at the neat avoidance of the whole patrynomic question.  What I quite liked was the continual ups-manship between the two throughout, neither of them really coming out as the "main" character in the partnership until almost the very end, and then only very slightly.  I liked the build of the relationship, and I loved the "innocent," frankly, even if you could see what was coming there from about five miles out!

Can't say I think too much of Illya's backstory, although it makes sense in this context.  Same for Solo's.  They do work, but they change some very, very basic motivations from the series.  Loved Waverly; the villianess was 'meh,' sorry to say.

Glad the espoused and I only shelled out for the matinee, but if it sequels, I'll pony up for it. :-)
