From the vault - Dec 16, 2009

So, say you have this new partner and want to indoctrinate him into the festivities that is an American Christmas – if you were Napoleon, what tradition would you want to introduce Illya to? This could take the form of a tradition held by you or your family/friends – not necessary the more ‘N. Rockwell’ or ‘Currier and Ives’ sort of Christmas tradition.

For me, nothing says the holidays quite as much as when we get together with friends and we have a huge paella party, then we eat special Italian cookies and we open our stockings from each other. For some reason, it makes me feel like a kid again, even finding that lousy tangerine in the toe. The gifts are never expensive or practical – usually just fun and silly. We eat and drink and laugh ourselves into a semi-comatose state. I would love to see Illya and Napoleon that relaxed and happy.

Anyone else feel like sharing?
