I suffer from bouts of insomnia (I'm in one now, having not had a proper nights sleep for almost a week), so I know first had what lack of sleep can do to a person physically, mentally, and emotionally. Britain's first female Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, famously got by on only four hours of sleep a night. We know how much the country was screwed as a result of that.
