Title of David McCallum's second novel announced.

The new book is due next year.  That's pretty fast considering how long it took him to write the second one.  Maybe he had one underway, just in case? lol!

Crime Pays! Sandstone Announce Second Novels By Volker Kutscher And David Mccallum

Posted at 1:01AM Tuesday 12 Apr 2016

Sandstone Press has signed the second title in German crime writer Volker Kutscher's bestselling Gereon Rath series, The Silent Death (Der stumme Tod). Volker made international headlines earlier this year with the announcement of the record-budget TV Series, 'Babylon Berlin' (based on the first book in the series Der nasse Fisch which is being published as Babylon Berlin by Sandstone this May and launched at the British Library and the Goethe Institut). The 40-million Euro series is being directed by 'Run Lola Run' director Tom Tykwer, produced jointly by German public broadcaster ARD and Sky, and will be broadcast internationally in 2017.

The Gereon Rath series has sold over one million copies in Germany and translations have been published in Denmark, France, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Serbia and Spain. Sandstone MD Robert Davidson bought World English Language Rights from Tanja Howarth at the Tanja Howarth Literary Agency London, representing Verlag Kiepenheuer & Witsch, Cologne. The Silent Death will be published in May 2017.

Sandstone has also bought UK and Commonwealth rights for the second Harry Murphy mystery, provisionally titled Once Upon A Crooked Time, by Scottish actor, original Man from U.N.C.L.E. and NCIS star David McCallum from Meredith Miller at Trident Media. Publication is scheduled for mid-2017.

Sandstone MD Robert Davidson says 'I am delighted to acquire these powerful novels for Sandstone Press. With our other crime titles, from familiar authors such as Jorn Lier Horst, and new talent such as Lesley Kelly and William McIntyre, they will do much to further our growing reputation as a publisher who can be relied on to supply brilliant, highly sellable books.'

Sandstone can be found at on the Publishing Scotland stall at 4A31 on Level 1.
