Just wondering

In The Yukon Affair... When Napoleon and Illya go looking for the quadro-whatsis, Napoleon picks up a compass and then asks Illya which direction is north. Illya doesn't look at the compass; he just points. Does he have some kind of internal compass? Also, what makes them think that a few sticks of dynamite are going to "destroy" all that "10 times harder than a diamond" metal? And how do "even the children" carve it? And how come Murphy's pendant seems to weigh so much less than any of the other quadro-stuff?

Good questions - anyone want to take a stab?

I do think Illya has an internal compass - my hubby does, which makes me crazy. I don't, which annoys him - a perfect match.

I'm especially interested if anyone can come up with an answer to the carving question... was it that processed it compacted it and made it become so much heavier? Or was someone asleep at the wheel?

What say you, my cousins?
