Goodnight, Princess - Carrie Fisher 1956 - 2016

I was 5 years old when my uncle took my cousin and me to the cinema. He told our mothers that we were going to a re-showing of 'Snow White'. Instead, we went to see 'Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back'. It led me to a life-long love of Star Wars. The fates must have known it would happen as I somehow managed to be born on May the Fourth.

As a fan of Star Wars, I grew up knowing that the Princess didn't have to wait around to be rescued; like they did in all the fairy stories. I learned from am early age that princesses were just as much hero material as anyone else.

Farewell, Carrie. You are already missed.
