From their website - Since 1982 the English Department at San Jose State University has sponsored the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest, a whimsical literary competition that challenges entrants to compose opening sentences to the worst of all possible novels.
I propose a little challenge here. The deadline will be April 15, 2019. Come up with the worst opening sentence you can. It can only be one sentence, but the use of commas, hyphens, semicolons, etc. is encouraged. It can be from a fandom or original work, something new or something old. It can be as short as you'd like, but it is limited to 150 words, total.
You don't have to be a friend to play and it doesn't have to be a real story. The object is to amuse, entertain and have a little fun.
The winner will get a choice of a quilting project, probably a pillow or wall hanging.
All you have to do is watch this space and when I say it's time to post, post away.
I hope you will join me for a bit of fun. If you want to post anonymously, just send me a PM with name so I know who's who.
So, you in?
