One of our newest cousins was wondering if anyone had a real encounter with the supernatural that they were willing to share. Here's your chance to get folks in the Halloween mood.
My story is behind the cut:
I'll throw one out. It was back in Reno and we had long suspected there was something not quite right about our apartment. We'd come home and every drawer and cabinet in the kitchen would be open. At first, we thought cats, but Spooky (yeah, I know) couldn't reach some of them. We have an electronic scale (still have the same one) and you toed it on. It beeps when it's ready. In that apartment, it was constantly going on by itself. It has never done that since.
One night we were in bed and both cats were with us. The window in the bedroom was open a crack, but there was no wind at all and it was the only one in the house open. Suddenly, our bedroom door, which was just barely ajar, slammed opened as if someone had kicked it in. It put a hole in the wall and both cats totally freaked and started growling. If the wind had come up, the door would have closed, not opened. Needless to say, we were as freaked as the cats. There was no one else in the apartment and it never happened again.
The ironic part? I was reading a book and it was talking about poltergeists and the Big Guy made a disparaging remark. He took it back after that.
