With apologies for posting something personal in The Canteen
Tazz appears to have valvular heart disease, & the sound of the murmur (indicating the valve isn't opening & closing fully) has increased from a 2 to a 3. The chest x-ray is concerning for early-onset cardiomyopathy (CMP, enlarged heart) on one view, but was normal on the other view. His labs were textbook normal, there's no sign of diabetes or kidney disease. His lungs were clear without congestion or fluid. So...Columbus has 2 vet specialty hospitals, one "private", one at Ohio State's Vet School. And, I will be seeing cardiology at one of them. Both valvular heart disase as well as CMP are managed medically, not surgically.
So, quality of life.
Thanks to all of you for your caring. It means more than I can say. And, again, my apologies for posting personally here.
